Exploring God's Call to Ordained Ministry
God calls people to serve in different ways in the Bible. "Who will go for me and who shall I send?" asks God of Isaiah. He responds by saying, "Here I am, send me!" God calls Jeremiah to be a prophet but he replies that he is just a boy and not qualified. God tells him not to worry because God will place God's words in Jeremiah's mouth. And in the gospels, Jesus calls Andrew and Peter and they drop everything to follow him. Is God calling you to serve the church in a special way? Is God calling someone you know? Are you receiving a call from God to ordained ministry? Or is God calling you to be the vehicle by which someone else hears God's call?
