Full access to a fun and exciting social calendar and events schedule. Charter regularly hosts headliner musical and comedy acts. Our lavish formal events are the envy of the Street, and have been since the famed Firehouse Section Party of 1930. We hold semiannual lawnsports tournaments, and plan trips to exciting local and more distant venues. Charter fields a full range of intramural sports teams, who compete and thrive at the highest levels of intramural competition.
All in all, membership in Charter means being a part of one of the most vibrant social communities on campus.
Sophomore Membership
Charter welcomes a new section of members selected through the sign-in process every February. We have always prided ourselves on rapidly integrating our new inductees into Charter life, and it often becomes difficult by year's end to remember exactly who is from which class. Sophomore members are entitled to the full range of membership privileges of full members, except they receive only two meals a week as part of an exchange with PUDS, instead of the full meal plan afforded to our full members. Our sophomores have full access to social events such as spring Houseparties, and are allowed to bring guests just as full members would be. Sophomores are encouraged to get involved in the management of the club, and a large body of sophomore officers are appointed each spring. The guiding principal of Charter in all regards is that a member is a member, regardless of section or age.
