For Parents

Have you ever had a conversation with your son or daughter about becoming a priest? It's a great life if that is God's will and you are in a unique position to raise the subject and encourage your child to consider a vocation to become a priest. All you need to do get started is initiate a conversation about the difference between a career and a calling, sharing your own experiences. And you can ask "Have you ever thought about becoming a priest? I think you'd be good at it!" and let God and your child do the rest. If you feel there is some flicker of interest, you might encourage your child to speak with your rector or with a priest who is a friend of the family to explore the vocation further. It might be the best gift you’ve ever given your child!
