For Youth Workers and Sunday School Teachers

Many kids who are drawn to youth activities at church may have a desire to explore becoming a priest. But most never will unless someone encourages them to think about it. You might get your group to discuss the difference between a career and a calling. We urge you to raise the possibility of a priestly vocation with your groups as often as possible. You might say something like, "Hey! Being a priest is really cool! And it's not too soon for you to think about whether God might want you to be a priest. So if any of you would like to talk about this in confidence, let me know and we'll help you learn more about being a priest." Many priests tell of a youth worker from childhood who said something like this and it changed their lives forever!
