"Every Culture Has Their Own Dumpling" Study Break
Thursday, March 27th at 10pm in Mathey Common Room
Flavor is working alongside Keisha April '10 and the Carl A. Fields Center to bring a cultural foods study break to campus. Keisha came up with the idea for the event under the premise that cultural groups may have more in common than people think. The goal of the study break is to foster a sense of togetherness on campus through cultural education and the sharing of ethnic food traditions. This idea that "everyone has their own dumpling" refers to the fact that many cultures make a stuffed, dumpling-like food: samosas, empanadas, won tons, gyooza, beef patties, pierogies, and the list goes on.
Various cultural student groups will be present to provide attendees with their own dumplings and information on their significances. We also hope to have student performers on hand. It's going to be a night of cultural togetherness focused around sharing food, music, and good company, so don't miss out!
