About Me

Hongzheng (Hong Zheng) is currently a graduate student in Department of Electrical Engineering of Princeton University. His Ph.D thesis advisor is Prof. James C. Sturm, director of PRinceton Institute for the Science and technology of Materials (PRISM).

Hongzheng's focus of study within the department is on Electronic Materials and Devices (EMD). His RESEARCH project is to develop a new wet printing process for organic material patterning for full-color Organic Light-Emitting Displays (OLEDs). [see research... ]

Before joining Princeton University, Hongzheng was a co-educated graduate student between Tsinghua University of Beijing, China and Juelich Research Center at Juelich, Germany. He spent 2 years at Tsinghua University then went to Juelich for one year and then back to Tsinghua University for the last year of study. He conducted cooperative research projects between Electron Microscopy Laboratory of Tsinghua University and Microscopy Research Institute (now Ernst Ruska-Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons) of Juelich Research Center. He conducted microstructural investigations by electron microscopy on high dielectric constant Barium Strontium Titanate (BST) thin films and on a separate project, on Lead Magnesium Niobate (PMN). Hongzheng's advisor at Tsinghua University is Prof. Jing Zhu, Dean of School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University. His advisor at Juelich is Prof. Dr. Knut Urban of Juelich Research Center. (Prof. Knut Urban has been recently selected to serve as the new president of the German Physical Society (DPG)! Congratulations!~)

Hongzheng was awarded degree of Master of Science majored at Materials Science & Engineering on July 2002.

Before that, Hongzheng spent 5 years in Tsinghua University between 1993-1998 and was awarded Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Engineering and a second Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He graduated in July 1998 with the highest HONOR. [see resume...]

Hongzheng was born and raised in Pujiang County, Zhejiang Province, east of China and to the south of Shanghai. His ancestor can be traced back to the Hun people of more than 2,000 years ago.
