an English major

from Ashland, Massachusetts

How would you describe yourself in 2 sentences or less?
(What is most important to you in your life? What defines you?)

I don't know how to boil down my life to two sentences....maybe that says something about me? I like to have fun, read good books, and learn.

What are your academic interests (more specific than your major)?

I am interested in modern and post-modern Irish literature, and French language and literature.

What do you do on campus (extracurricular interests)?

In addition to Orange Key, I am on the Editorial Board of the Daily Princetonian and play clarinet with the Princeton University Wind Ensemble (PUWE). I am also a member of Terrace Club.

What have you learned about Princeton that you would have liked to know as a prospective student?

That I am not an engineer! I actually came into Princeton declared as a BSE (Chemical Engineering). I took two semesters of engineering classes and found that it ultimately wasn't for me. It was pretty easy to switch, and switch I did: now I'm an English major with a French certificate!

What do you hope (or plan) to do after graduation and in the rest of your life?

Right now I have no idea, but grad school and law school are both possibilities.
