From PrincetonUnixFAQ

For the purpose of this website, alternative operating systems are defined as:

  • Unix (e.g. SysV)
  • Linux (the many flavors, including our favorite, Gentoo (http://www.gentoo.org/), our second favorite, Debian (http://www.debian.org/), and others)
  • BSD
  • Mac OS X
  • SkyOS

For the purpose of our mailing list, we speak, in the most part, of linux.
