From PrincetonUnixFAQ

Welcome to PrincetonUnixFAQ Wiki, a website for the Princeton Unix Users' Group, the university organization dedicated to Unix/Linux/BSD/OSX and other alternative operating systems on the Princeton University (http://www.princeton.edu/) campus. The express purpose of this wiki is to supersede the old and venerable FAQ (http://www.princeton.edu/~pug/faq) and its half-assed successor (http://www.princeton.edu/~pug/newfaq) as the source for information regarding configuring and running a Linux-like system on the Princeton campus.

How to contribute

Once you're logged in, go to a page you want to edit, click "Edit" at the top of the page, and create away.

Due to recent surge in SPAM, I've temporarily put a perm-block on all users. Anonymous edits have been turned off, and no new registration of accounts is allowed without administrator's approval. If you are a member of the PUG community, and want a new account or to reactivate your old one, please contact the admins at pug@.

To add a new article

Please read the following directions, as our options have recently changed.

If you wish to add a completely new article, follow the links in our main navigation to a page where a link to the new page would be appropriate. Try Want Linux, Linux Usage, or Newbie Help, and spread out from there. If there really is no place where this information is relevant, go to the scratch page.

Once on that page, click on "Edit" at the top and add a link to your not-yet-extant article. The name you use in this link will be the name of your new page. In wiki code, links look like this:

[[insert name of page here]]

Notice how there shouldn't be a space between the double brackets and the title of the page. Save your changes, click your new link (it should be red, indicating a new page), and you will be presented with a text box for entering the content for your new article.

When you're done, let the folks on the mailing list know about your creation.
