SGAC Main Page
This Valentine's Day, SGAC is, in conjunction with SHA, raising money for Hyacinth by selling candy and condomgrams. We will be selling them at late meal hours (1:30-4:30; 8-10pm) Monday (Feb. 7) through Friday (Feb. 11) at the SGAC table at Frist 100 level

3 candies + 1 condom + 1 beaded ribbon/wristband = $3
3 candies + 1 condom = $2
3 candies = $2
Why?
In America around 40,000 people are infected with HIV every year. Nearly half of these infections occur in people under the age of 25. While abstinence is the only way to guarantee 100% protection, safe sexual practices such as using condoms are also essential in curbing this epidemic. SGAC believes that on Valentine's Day -- and on any other day of the year -- it is important to help protect ourselves and those around us from unwanted STD's like HIV/AIDS.

Be educated; Be aware; Be safe. If you choose to use this condom, please ensure you have your partner's consent.

How?
All you have to do is stop by our First Table anytime during late meal hours, between 1:30-4:30pm and 8:00-10pm from Monday to Friday. We'll do the sending for you!

Your recipient will receive his/her condom or candy (or both!) gram in his Frist mailbox, along with an email asking him to check his mail.

Who is this helping?
All proceeds will go to Hyacinth, a New Jersey-based organization that helps HIV positive people live with HIV. Amongst other services, the organization offers testing, counseling, education and treatment adherence services.

In light of the economic crisis, a growing number of people have lost access to life-saving medications through federal programs. These medications also reduce the risk of futher transmission. Hyacinth provides vital services that are particularly relevant in these times of need. By sending a condom/candy gram to your friend, you'll not only be helping send an important message to those we love, but you'll also be supporting a good cause!

Who are the organizers?
This is a fundraiser run by the Student Global AIDS Campaign in collaboration with Sexual Health Advisors, and is sponsored by UHS. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to use our comment box to send us a message!
